One week until #GivingTuesday!
Whether you’re counting down the days until your Thanksgiving dinner or just looking forward to the long weekend, it’s clear that excitement is in the air. With only two days left until the holiday weekend, now is a great time to reflect on what we have and how blessed many of us are.
Over the last couple of weeks, you’ve learned about #GivingTuesday and the incredible work Heartbeat International Foundation does providing life-saving devices and treatment to individuals in the poorest countries. You met Arturo, a young boy whose life was saved with a pacemaker implant, and you heard Lonnie Martin speak passionately about donating to the foundation. Today, we want you to meet Hannah and think about her and her family as you sit down and give thanks this weekend.
Hannah was diagnosed with a Bradycardia at age 5. By age 13, Hannah’s doctors predicted that she would not survive much longer without a pacemaker. Hannah’s family didn’t have insurance and couldn’t afford a pacemaker and the required procedures on their own.
Fearing their only daughter wouldn’t survive much longer, Hannah’s family began searching for possible help. Once they discovered Heartbeat International Foundation, Hannah’s mother sent a heartwarming letter detailing Hannah’s illness and asking for the foundation’s help. On December 15, 2017, Hannah received the gift of life and a successfully implanted BIOTRONIK device. Hannah can now look forward to a happy and healthy life.
Our purpose at BIOTRONIK is to advance the health and well-being for all through our life-saving technology. Since 2010, we’ve supported Heartbeat International Foundation and have donated 90% of the devices they use.
